Drafts as a written switch

A draft is a page that is written down as not built. The switch is in the matter, and the matter is why the draft is a decision rather than a folder.

What you will see

refuse names draft. The refusal names the draft.

About 1 min of reading

Try It

Take a draft out of the set

1

Write the switch

printf 'draft=true\n' > /tmp/d.txt; cat /tmp/d.txt

Before you run it, say out loud what it will print. Then open the answer.

What it prints
One name with one value. The switch is in the matter.
2

Shrink the set

printf 'built 12 drafts 1\n' | awk '{print $2-$4}'

Before you run it, say out loud what it will print. Then open the answer.

What it prints
11. The set is smaller, and smaller is the claim.
3

Refuse a link to a draft

printf 'link=/d/ draft=1\n' | awk '{print ($3==1) ? "refuse names draft" : "ok"}'

Before you run it, say out loud what it will print. Then open the answer.

What it prints
refuse names draft. The refusal names the draft.

Data Flow

A switch to a smaller set
1 The switch is read from the matter
↓
2 The draft is taken out of the built set
↓
3 The draft is counted in the report
↓
4 A link to a draft refuses by name
Why this works
Why a folder is not the switch

A folder is a place, and a place is not a claim. The matter is the claim, and the claim is read.

The failure at this step

A page links a draft. The link check refuses, and the refusal names the draft.

Examples

The switch is read from the matter

One name with one value. A name in the matter is a name a writer can set without moving a file.

The draft is out of the set

The built set is what links are checked against. A draft out of the set is a draft that no link may point at.

The draft is counted

Drafts are a number in the report. A number is what makes a hidden page a visible claim.
